About the Event
Join us for orienteering on a new map of Peddock's Island!
The event will be free. The first 90 people to sign up will receive free ferry tickets.
In addition to orienteering, activities on Peddocks Island include hiking, camping, picnicking, swimming, fishing, and touring an old military fort.
You may run more than one course. We have the traditional White through Red orienteering courses. Please register for the first (main) course you plan to run. There will be Animal Orienteering and Mini Courses available for everyone who participates - no need to sign up separately for these!
Start windows vary due to advanced courses being accessible only at lower tides:
- Animal-O, Mini Courses, White, Yellow, Orange, Brown: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 pm
- Advanced courses (Green, Red): 1:30 pm to 2:45 p.m.
Courses close at 4:15 p.m.
Every human, including infants in arms, needs to have a ferry ticket - no exceptions. The first 90 people to register with us get a free ticket; otherwise you will need to purchase your own ticket. Tickets do sell out, as the ferries are quite small.
Ferry times for the free tickets (the trip takes 35 minutes); times are departures from Hingham and returning from Peddock's Island:
- 9:00 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. (20 tickets available - 3 hours and 10 minutes on-island)
- 10:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. (35 tickets available - 4 hours and 10 minutes on-island)
- 12:00 noon and 5:15 p.m. (Green and Red runners must choose this option - 35 tickets available - 4 hours and 40 minutes on-island)
Showers will be available.
A joint production of the New England Orienteering Club and Navigation Games.
