Kick off the conference with an orienteering activity! Orienteering is a physically active experience that develops map navigation skills. Get to know your fellow MAHPERD attendees through a brief Score-Orienteering course, a fast-paced navigation challenge to visit as many checkpoints as you can while enjoying engaging conversations with your team along the way. We will go outside, so come dressed for the weather!

Later, join us for an orienteering-focused workshop. In this workshop, you will learn a progression of indoor and outdoor games that develop orienteering skills. We will share lesson plans for elementary, middle and high school PE. We’ll talk about what materials you need and how to get an orienteering map made of your school or a nearby park.
