Current Available Positions

Navigation Games is seeking teachers and coaches for our classes and school teams. These positions are great internships for physical and outdoor education students, but are also open to others who have experience working with children and would like to volunteer with Navigation Games. Some of these positions have funding from the City and could be paid.

 

Community School teacher (4 positions available in Cambridge)

One afternoon each week, teach 2 after-school classes to children in grades K-5 in Cambridge. Navigation Games will provide training, lesson plans, and materials. The classes start the last week of February and continue through the 2nd or 3rd week of June, with April vacation and other school holidays off. The goal of these classes is to teach map navigation skills in a fun, games-based environment. Class meeting times vary, but are usually around 3pm to 5pm.

Qualifications:

Middle School Coach (5 positions available in Cambridge):

Coach a middle school orienteering team once a week after school in April and May, 2019. Navigation Games will provide coach training, practice plans, and materials. Practices are generally from 2:45 pm to 4:45 pm, but vary slightly from school to school.

Qualifications:

High School Coach (1 position available in Cambridge):

Coach a high school orienteering team three times a week in April and May, 2019. Navigation Games will provide coach training, practice plans, and materials.
