Are you a teacher or coach in Massachusetts who would like to bring orienteering to your classroom? We'd love to help! Orienteering provides many opportunities for students to move around, work as individual or in groups, and apply their minds to solve creative problems. Those are just a few of the many benefits children experience through participation in orienteering.

Navigation Games is dedicated to providing teacher education for those who would like to incorporate orienteering and navigation into their classrooms. We are also able to provide programming for any classrooms who wish to have our experienced staff on-site to direct activities. We typically charge a fee for our services but we will never say no if your school can't afford to pay. Please contact us with any questions!

Workshops and clinics

Navigation Games can come to your school and conduct a workshop on bringing orienteering into your classroom or after-school program.

Field trips

The enthusiastic founders of Navigation Games have been successfully running orienteering field trips in Cambridge public schools for over five years. Typically we'll conduct a classroom day with an introduction to the map, navigation, and a bit of schoolyard orienteering, followed by a field trip to the Middlesex Fells for a full-day outdoor experience. The program can be adapted to your school's needs.

Lesson plans

Navigation Games has partnered with teachers from several schools in Massachusetts to provide thorough, detailed, and immersive orienteering lesson plans for all ages. Take a look at our 8-class High School unit plan and 4-class K-5 unit plan in our MAHPERD 2018 public resources folder.
